Turkish citizenship application file and passport on a desk

Practice Area

Turkish Citizenship for foreign nationals

We represent foreign nationals through every route to Turkish citizenship — investment, marriage and long-term residence — and we stay on the file until the passport is in your hands.

Turkish citizenship is a legal process, not a paperwork exercise. Every route has its own eligibility conditions, documentation standards and interview practice — and small mistakes in the file are the most common reason applications stall or fail. As attorneys registered with the Ankara Bar, we manage your application before the General Directorate of Population and Citizenship Affairs, respond to requests for additional documents, and challenge unlawful rejections before the administrative courts.

Everything happens in plain English: your documents, our advice and every status update along the way.

The Process

How your case proceeds

  1. Eligibility assessment

We review your situation against every available route and give you a written opinion on the strongest one — before you commit to anything.

  2. File preparation

Documents collected, translated, notarized and apostilled to the standard the Directorate actually applies.

  3. Filing & follow-up

We file, track the case number, answer additional document requests and prepare you for the citizenship interview.

  4. Decision — and after

On approval: ID, passport and family extensions. On rejection: a reasoned appeal strategy within the legal deadline.

Questions

Turkish Citizenship — frequently asked

How long does citizenship by investment take?

A well-prepared investment file typically concludes in 6–12 months from filing, including the conformity certificate stage. Timelines vary with the Directorate’s workload; we track your file at every stage and keep you informed.

Can my spouse and children be included?

Your spouse and children under 18 can apply together with you in the investment route. For other routes, family members generally follow with their own linked applications — we plan this at the assessment stage.

Do I need to speak Turkish or live in Türkiye?

The investment route requires neither continuous residence nor a language exam. Residence-based applications require five years of uninterrupted legal residence.

What if my application is rejected?

Rejections can be challenged — first by administrative objection, then by annulment lawsuit before the administrative courts. Deadlines are short and strict, so contact us as soon as you receive a decision.
